My Haunted House

Sixteen years ago, my wife and I moved into our new home. The house was one of the first houses built in this part of Jefferson City. As the previous owner left, he would touch the walls and talk to the house. Weird? I believe everything has its energy, so it wasn’t strange for me.

The basement was the first place we noticed activity. Lights would turn on and then turn off, then on, and so forth. Noises were coming from the basement at all hours of the day. One evening while the family was having dinner, we heard a loud growl from the basement. The growl up so loud, it shook our table. We had a dog at that time who wasn’t afraid of anything, and we kept her in the basement when we ate. After the growl, you could hear the dog running up the stairs and trying to get through the door. I checked out the basement, except for the lights being on, I didn’t find anything. I finally had to have a talk with the entity in the basement, asking it not to turn on the lights all the time. The lights quit turning on and off, but I still have family members who will not set foot downstairs.

We have a young child who likes to look out the bedroom window. There is an older gentleman on the back porch, smoking a cigar. An older lady with an awful smelling perfume patrolling one bedroom. The person I notice the most is the “Lady in White” she always has a long white nightgown on, and it flowed when she walked. The first time I noticed her was in the attic, where I sleep. I felt my wife get out of bed and head for the vanity. Not wearing my glasses, it looked like my wife brushing her hair at the vanity. Putting on my glasses, I noticed my wife asleep in bed. I saw a lady brushing her long white hair (my wife’s hair is red), wearing a long white nightgown when she turned to look at me and disappeared. I see her a few times a month, sometimes walking down from the attic or peeking her head around the corner.

It seems like our house is a train station for spirits. We live close to the Missouri River. Most of our visitors are either pleasant or just passing through but now and then, there is something evil. I’ll discuss in a later blog and how to protect your dwelling and how to rid the Evil entities.
